This is my version of Get*Set*Go.
I used three 6BX7GTs for power duty, 3/2 per channel.
Instead of 6SL7 I used a 7F7, the loctal base version and a 5U4 instead of the 6AX5.
The 6BX7GTs are all cathode biased at about 20ma each for 60ma each channel. The rest is pretty straight forward. Had to do a little modification to use the 5U4 and the 7F7 but wasn't too bad.
I listened to it for maybe 20 minutes late tonight and I must say I was impressed with the detail and clarity. Great bass response, must be the James trannies. It may well take over the favorite amp position.

VERY NICE! I almost modded mine to use a 5U4, 5V4 etc, but I made it totally stock, since it's the first one.

There must be something magic about the James outputs, I've never heard this kind of bass from just 3 watts. Yellow_Light_Colorz_PDT_06

I originally had a 5AR4 installed but the B+ ended up at +375v versus the +355v that PSUD calculated so I swapped in the 5U4 and it dropped to +350v. I need to change all the cathode bypass caps before I put the 5AR4 back in. I have Elna Cerafines in there now with a 25v rating and they have 28-29 volts across them so I need to swap them for 50v rated ones. Then drill a few ventilation holes and add rubber feet and its done.
SEamp CAD simulations predicted a tad over 6 watts which should be plenty.

Cool looking amp Mike !

The James really do make a difference, I was amazed at
how good they sound in the Darlings also.

BTW - if anyone is looking for an assembled get*set*go, I've
got a few extras.

Those black chassis do look nice. I've ordered one but they're backordered as usual.

Nice looking amp Mike. Don't those tubes look great all warmed up?
