Best Tube Regulated Bench PSU ?

Postby SteveH » Sun Oct 18, 2009 4:06 pm

Gents,
The topic basically says it all....Im looking for a bench supply; and am just curious what everyone has. I would prefer it to go over 400vdc; but the only ones I've seen thus far that do are newer switching supplies.

Thanks !

I've had a couple of Lambda tubed power supplies through here. Darned near indestructible and very reliable :-)

Cheers!

Fine wine comes in glass bottles, not plastic sacks. Therefore the finer electrons are also found in glass bottles.

Bench PSU

Just my 2 bits - But an experienced DIYer should be able to build a nice one for not too much. Figure the tranny [recycled], filter caps, [dare I say it?] MOSFETs and some Zenners (or other means of regulation), a couple meters, pots, i/o jacks, enclosure (recycled), ..., what else?

In fact I was thinking that would make a good PCB project! Any designers out there? We could do a group buy. The circuit should be as generic as possible, of course. I'll participate, anyone else?

If there's no sound in a vacuum, where'd the music come from?
