Look what a friend gave me:

I'll clean the switches and check the solder joints and see if I can't roast some tubes.

Nice score! I have a Satan's Special, too. Very simple and very good. About as reliable measurements as my Hickok 600A.

Looks GREAT!

I picked up an Eico 625 tester at the Dayton Hamvention for $15. Had to ship it to myself though since I didn't want to carry it on the airplane. It needs some minor repair but it should work OK.

Also got a bunch of NOS 6SL7's, 6SN7's, 6AX5's, 6EM7's and a nice set of Sylvania 6B4G's for not much money at all. Most were $2 apiece. The 6B4G's were $8.

And to top it off, Shannon's get*set*go board was waiting in the mailbox for me when I got home!

Regards,

So I finally fired it up yesterday and everything worked but I have a question. When testing the tube for leakage, one of the push buttons always goes to full scale. What is going on here? I tested about 25 tubes and everyone did this. It was a different button for every tube type but for each type it was always the same button. I know you know.

BTW does anyone have a button for the merit switch they can give me?

Don, do you have the manual? I can email it to you if you need it.
