680 output resistor

Postby SteveH » Sat Oct 17, 2009 8:01 am

Guys,
Is the 680 ohm resistor mounted to the 8ohm output to ground needed w/the DIYTube board ? I don't see any references to it in the schematic; just a line direct to the onboard NFB to jumper 'I'.

Thanks !
Steve

Yes. Shannon did his feedback/stability testing with it in place. Somewhere around here is a thread where he stated this... I'll see if I can dig it up.

edit: Try this - http://www.diytube.com/phpBB2/viewtopic ... 63&start=7
"It's a different experience; the noise occlusion, crisp, clear sound, and defined powerful bass. Strong bass does not corrupt the higher frequencies, giving a very different overall feel of the sound, one that is, in my opinion, quite unique."
