more gain
Posted: Sat Feb 07, 2009 9:23 pmIve posted a few times about feelings I need more gain from the driver baord... I have a driver baord for mk MKIV that uses 2 12ux7 tubes, seems stronger at lower volumes.
Could I use 2 12AX7 tubes instead of 1 12ux7 and 1 12ax7... could this be done without modification? A 12AX7 is a higher gain version of a 12ux7 right?
any help... trying to my outout up with less gain. I am using a preamp.
