Poseidon in triode?

Postby Blair » Fri Sep 05, 2008 8:25 am

Hey everyone,

I'm rebuilding my stereo amp using the poseidon boards and had a question. I'm using EDCOR OPTs with 40% screens. can this be strapped for triode? If so, does someone have a schematic of how to do this?

Forgive me, but I moved to the dark side recently and bought a commercial amp Yellow_Light_Colorz_PDT_02 , and wanted to be able to compare them, but want to work all the bugs that previously did not bother me out of my poseidon. I bought a Yaqin 100b. It is another KT88 PP design with fairly good reviews. It has a triode switch and I just wanted to be able to fully a/b them.

Thanks for any help guys!

Another question is whether anyone here knows a good source for potting resin. I'm thinking about potting my toroid as it has a bit of mechanical noise.

Thanks again!

Disconnect the transformer's UL tap from the screen. Connect a 100 ohm, 2W resistor in series between the screen and the plate. If you want to put a triode/UL switch in there, it's OK if you keep the 100 ohm in the circuit when if reconnect the UL tap.

Check out the wiring around V11, and the triode/UL switch on this schematic:
