Can you do this?

Postby Blair » Thu Sep 27, 2007 7:12 pm

I am looking at a 100wpc Marshall schematic for this so I'm not sure if this will work, but can you do this assuming I use 100w OPTs, and a power tranny with twice the ma?

Thanks for any advice or info on how to do this. I love my Poseidon, but am looking to build some bigger monoblocks :)

That's almost exactly what I'm doing in my 100 watt monoblock prototypes, Blair. You just need to add small value (I use 43Ω) 2W resistors between the plates/screens and the transformer to act as ballasts (and fuses for meltdown prevention). You also should used matched pairs for each leg, just because there's no provision for DC balance.

Thanks Eric,

Where are you getting your output iron? I can find 100w Iron, but not 120w iron, or is this nonpoint because I'll never get there before hearing damage Yellow_Light_Colorz_PDT_02 Look at the bright side. There is no more of this nutty hobby if I can't hear anymore....

Just kidding and thanks Eric!
