Anyway, here is a link to the pictures. Sometimes it does not work. Just let me know if it doesen't, and I'll try to repost.

Excellent! I love it when a plan finally comes together. Love the toroid look. Nice speaker projects, too, btw!!

Hey Shannon,

Thanks for the kind words. I do have another questions while I've got you :)

I started with a 256 ohm 15H choke, and now I have a 10H 155ohm choke. The issue is trying to get the voltages up to spec. I'm down about 10 volts now. This 10H choke is a bit puny and gets a little hot. I found a 10H choke with 100 ohms from Hammond. Will this choke probably bring my B+ and following voltages up to the proper lever. The 100 ohm choke is also a 500 ma choke as opposed to the 250ma choke.

I listened to the amp for about 8 hours yesterday, and the choke holds up, but I would like to prevent premature failure.

Will putting a perforated aluminum screen around that toroid help to shield it from the tube heat and/or prevent the tube heat from melting the plastic wrap in the future?

Thanks Shannon.

P.S, When is a preamp kit coming out Yellow_Light_Colorz_PDT_02 ?

Thank you Steve. I've put about 25 hours on it, and I love this amp. It definitely gave me the overhead I was looking for to drive my less efficient speakers. My matching preamp will be done in a week or so. I don't have my parts yet, but it is a dual 6SN7 design by John Broski at Glass Audio.

Thanks again!

Ah, just 10V off? Leave it, your current choke is fine. :) What current are you running at idle?

Yeah, I would leave it, but I'm running about 50% more voltage through it than is recommended. I juts ordered a Hammond enclosed choke. It should be here Monday or so. It should bring the B+ up a bit, and I need something to sit on the chassis between those big OPTs. Plus, whats a few more pounds. This is the most exercise I get and I'm only 28 Yellow_Light_Colorz_PDT_02 .

Thanks for all your help Shannon et al.....
