Distortion

Postby Gregt01 » Sat Mar 17, 2007 6:32 pm

Hi guys, just a quick one.
I seem to be getting reverb/distortion from one of the monos, on low to mid volume it seems clear with no distortion but once I push it that’s when it all happens.
The sound starts to distort with a slight muffle and reverb.
I changed the bottles from the other one that works fine and recalibrated all voltages and tested again and still the same I also moved it from one speaker to the other.
Would anyone have an idea what could be causing this fault?

Hi Greg -

That sounds like a feedback issue.

Let me ask you this - the amp isn't sitting on top or in front of the speaker, right ?

Check anything and everything associated with the feedback loop, wiring, component values, etc.

Hi Tom, no the amps have been moved from the front of the speakers. I'll go threw every resister and check. Would you say for me to look on the poseidon board or the rest or all?

Hi Tom I found a 3.3k resistor was a 33k, my eyes are playing up again.
Thanks for that all is good now.

Many Regards
to all

Hi Greg - That was quick - very cool.
I've been there and done that ... it's easy to do.

Hopefully I'll have them March 30th or early the next week. Went red again, so I think the red PCB and the blue top plate will really look sharp.
