Substitute for 100 OHM 3W Vishay Resistors

Postby Guest » Sun Dec 12, 2004 8:36 pm

Hi,
I have my rev D board in hand and scored on an ebay SCA-35 doner for trannies. :) Now I'm working on placing my mouser order. Everything is in stock except for the 100 OHM 3W Vishay Resistors. Can someone recommend a substitute for me from mouser so I don't have to order one item from somewhere else.
Thanks.

Hi All,

Mouser 283-100 is a Xicon metal oxide 3 watt that should substitute nicely.

Remember, when mounting resistors of 1 watt or greater dissipation on a PC board, leave an air gap between the resistor and the board. My rule of thumb is 3/16" per watt. And resistors over 5 watts shouldn't be mounted on a PCB at all (IMH but after 46 years of experience in this craziness O).
