Did you try shorter spacers?

I'm looking at pictures of the ones I built in that chassis,
and the tube sockets definitely stick out the top a little.

I have not tried shorter stand off yet as I don't have any. I'll have to look into find some locally or ordering some soon.

I just ordered what was on the BOM.

Oh OK .... remember the BOM was for a standard 2" depth chassis,
not the cool Stainless Steel chassis Triode brought out years after
the board was on the market. There is probably a thread of
messages on here talking about it, the BOM says 1/2" and I would
think 3/8" would be better, just be careful nothing shorts out to the chassis.

Thanks you sir! I'll see if I can find the 3/8" stand offs. Be nice if there was some place local.

Even cheaper than standoffs, and much more adjustable - try faucet washers stacked up on 1" screws. It's a little fidgety getting everything stacked up and on the chassis, but quite secure once you've got it all together. I think these were 00 washers, and four washers made 1/2".

i have often thought a ball point pen housing would also serve as a cheap, cut-to-length standoff alternative...

I actually have a small drawer full of spacer that you just reminded me of.
