Amperite 115C** Time Delay Relay

Has anyone ever used a Amperite 115C** Time Delay Relay tube for turn-on delay/soft start type applications ? If so what are the "pro's and/or con's to using them ?

Mike's N-1 Rule: When looking for N number of components to finish a job, you have a 95% chance of only finding N-1 of them.

It would be simpler to use a thermistor-type current limiter, such as a CL-90. Wire in series with the 120-V line - maybe a buck or so.

Just wondering if the thermistor's performance can degrade over time rendering it less effective, If so would there be any advantage to using a larger one, say a 120 ?

I'm unaware of thermistors "degrading over time." They are widely used for temperature measurement in many critical processes.

If you use a thermistor as an inrush current limiter, and select a higher current rating than necessary, it will take longer to heat up (OK), and have a higher steady-state voltage drop (maybe not OK). Best to examine the data sheets of the devices you are comparing.
