ST35 cap question

I hope this isn't to stupid but....Do I straighten the leads on the Orange Drop caps (C1-C4) and mount them flush to the pcb or do I just install them up to the kink in the leads and leave a space between the cap and the board?

I installed 'em as is, right up to the kink and my st35 works just fine.
