Rev D board and Pentode mode

Postby whitelabrat » Wed Apr 23, 2008 11:50 am

Does the topic "ST35 Mod: Using the AA-100 Outputs and Pentode Configured" apply to the rev D board?

I'm using old iron that has not a UL tap. I understand that triode connection isn't too complicated, but I'm hoping for more power to drive fairly inefficient speakers.

It should work, the basic circuit design is the same between the B C and D revs, though the B has a somewhat diferent PSU filter cap chain, the C anbd D are nearly identical for setting it up in "pentode" or "triode" mode.
The rev D has pads in place to use LM317 cathode current regulators, but I don't think it is detailed in teh assembly instructions.
The B board was also physically larger and the tube socket layout wasn't symmetrical.
