Build new PCB into original sca-35 chassis??

I've got an sca 35 and was thinking about rebuilding it as an st35. Is there any way I can do this? I know the pcb is designed for the tubes to stick out the bottom of the PCB. Can I simply mount the larger caps on the back side of hte PCB too, an then put it in the sca35 case? Drilling out the bottom of the original case for new mounting holes is not a problem.

I guess the other option would be to get the reproduction original st30 pcb's, but I'd rather have the circuit improvements that are on the newly designed boards.
